Botswana
The wilderness and nature reserves of Botswana are some of the most vast and untouched in Africa. A safari to Botswana is ideal for those looking for an authentic wilderness experience which doesn’t compromise on comfort. An incredible range of animals can be seen here, from diverse bird life to large mammals and rare predators.
The government is supporting nature conservation and its aim is for tourism to have a low impact on the natural environment. This means less tourists at a higher price. A budget safari to the true wilderness of Botswana is impossible.
Best time to visit Botswana
If you want to experience the Okavango Delta in all its splendour, May to October is the best time to visit. The water from the Okavango river flows into the Delta and attracts many grazing animals and their predators. This time of year is the dry season which makes it easier to travel around. The rainy season, November to April, is perfect for those who love to see birds and baby animals.
March, April and May are the best months to visit the Central Kalahari. At the end of the rainy season it turns green and lush. Thousands of Gemsbok (Oryx) and Springbok draw the attention of lions and cheetahs.

South Africa
This country has a huge variety on offer. It has the wild African savannah with the Big Five and many private lodges and national parks. South Africa has a fascinating history, interesting local culture, winelands, the city of Cape Town, unspoilt beaches and top restaurants. Choose from activities like cycling or hiking, horse riding or just relaxing. You can experience an amazing diversity of scenery without travelling far. Choosing where to go will be the hardest challenge.
Baobabwe can help you with a tailor-made itinerary for your holiday.
Best time to travel to South Africa
You can travel to South Africa at any time of the year. Depending on your interests, it's better to visit parts of the country at certain times of the year. The Southern hemisphere seasons are opposite to those of Europe and the USA. The Western Cape has a Mediterranean climate which means that the rainy season occurs in the local winter from June till September. In the rest of South Africa, the rainy season falls in the summer months between November and April. It’s always possible to find a region at the time that you want, with lots of sunshine and not much rain.

Victoria Falls
These mighty falls are nearly 2 km wide and the drop is about 100 meters deep. You can hear the roar of the water and see mist rise over the horizon from far away. No wonder the locals call these falls 'Mosi-oa-Tunya' or 'the smoke that thunders'. The little town of Victoria Falls is known for its many activities, such as canoeing, white water rafting, bungee jumping and sunset cruises. For the less adventurous, a walk through the rainforest and a view of the Victoria Falls are a must. The lush tropical rainforest surrounding the falls lives and thrives on the continuous spray. The awe-inspiring view of these falls is something you will never forget.
Best time to visit Vitoria Falls
The falls are always beautiful, but at the very driest they are less impressive. That is from August to November. The advantage is that you can see the rainbow nicely and get less wet from all the splashing water. If you visit them during the rainy season, you will often get soaking wet from all the splashing water and in some places you will not see much through the water curtain. So every season has its advantage.
Victoria Falls can be perfectly combined with Botswana as a day trip from Chobe or with South Africa by a short flight.

Namibia
The land of red dunes as high as a mountain, a desert full of life, boatwrecks along Skeleton Coast, the world famous Etosha National Park. Namibia is space, space and more space, Namibia is very different from South Africa and Botswana. Now we also offer trips to Namibia. Guided or self drive, take your time and explore this magnificent country.
